Job summary

Senploy is supporting a Northfield, Birmingham primary school to recruit a qualified SEND Teacher for a dedicated SEN resource base, expanding specialist SEND provision within a mainstream setting.

You will work with the SENCO and team to deliver an individualised curriculum, supporting pupils with Autism and related needs, and helping them develop communication, independence and engagement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in primary/early years or specialist settings.
• Strong understanding of Autism (ASC) and communication needs.
• Ability to adapt lessons for pupils at different developmental stages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individualised teaching for pupils within a specialist SEN resource base.
• Support pupils with ASC, communication and interaction needs.
• Adapt the primary curriculum around EHCP targets and development.
• Deliver small-group and individual learning activities.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Work closely with SEN Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of the school's SEND provision.
