Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a SEND Practitioner to join a welcoming team. This full-time, term-time role focuses on supporting learners with EHCPs or additional needs, both one-to-one and in groups, helping them access mainstream classes and reach their goals.

The successful candidate will contribute to students’ academic progress and personal growth within a supportive environment, with opportunities for development and DBS checks as part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Ability to support progress in SEND across four areas and achieve learning goals.
  • IT and administration skills.
  • Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to work towards.
  • Level 3 Award for Learning Support Practitioners or willingness to work towards.

SEND Practitioner

Yeovil College is looking for a passionate and dedicated full-time, term-time only SEND Practitioner to make a real difference in students' lives. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners both one-to-one and in group settings, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. As a SEND Practitioner, you'll work closely with students who have EHCPs or additional learning needs, enabling them to fully access further education and thrive within mainstream classes. Your support will be vital in shaping not only their academic progress but also their personal growth. You’ll be part of a small, welcoming, and supportive team where your contribution truly matters every day.

What we're looking for:


  • A strong interest in working with young people with additional needs.

  • Passionate about facilitating young people to make progress in all four areas in SEND and achieve learning goals.

  • Technical skills including IT and administration.

  • Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to work towards.

  • Level 3 Award for Learning Support Practitioners or willingness to work towards.

  • Respectful of learners' personal needs and maintain confidentiality at all times.
