Job summary

Yeovil College in Mudford invites applications for a Learning Support Practitioner. You will work 35 hours per week, term time only, supporting students one-on-one to help them achieve academic and personal goals.

You will collaborate with educators to promote a positive learning environment, drive the life-skills program, and empower students to manage time, organisation, and communication effectively.

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in working with young people with additional needs.
  • Level 2 English or Maths (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve.
  • Level 3 award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities or willingness to work towards.
  • Great communicator who can engage with students.
  • Compassionate and respectful of learners' needs.
  • Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you'll make a lasting impact by supporting students one-on-one, helping them reach their full potential. You will collaborate with passionate educators to create a supportive environment where students thrive academically and personally. Building strong relationships with staff, parents, and carers, you'll drive the fitness to study process and implement strategies that promote student success. Acting as a liaison, you'll empower students to develop essential life skills such as time management, organisation, communication, budgeting, and decision-making.

What we're looking for:
  • A strong interest working with young people with additional needs.
  • Level 2 English or Maths [or equivalent] or willingness to achieve.
  • Level 3 award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities or willingness to work towards.
