Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a dedicated SEND Practitioner to join our team on a full-time, term-time only basis. You will support learners both one-to-one and in small groups, helping them access Further Education and develop independence and confidence.

You will work with students who have EHCPs or additional learning needs, collaborating with colleagues to create inclusive learning experiences. The role offers a supportive environment and opportunities for professional development and career

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • Working towards or holding Level 2 English/Maths and Level 3 Award.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners one-to-one and in small groups.
  • Assist students to access further education and build independence.
  • Collaborate with staff to create inclusive learning activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding requirements.

SEND Practitioner

Yeovil College is looking for a passionate and dedicated full-time, term-time only SEND Practitioner to make a real difference in students’ lives. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners both one-to-one and in group settings, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

As a SEND Practitioner, you’ll work closely with students who have EHCPs or additional learning needs, enabling them to fully access further education and thrive within mainstream classes. Your support will be vital in shaping not only their academic progress but also their personal growth. You’ll be part of a small, welcoming, and supportive team where your contribution truly matters every day. What we’re looking for:
  • A strong interest in working with young people with additional needs.
  • Passionate about facilitating young people to make progress in all four areas in SEND achieve learning goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A Special Education Needs background and knowledge along with IT and admin skills are key for the role
  • Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to work towards.
  • Level 3 Award for Learning Support Practitioners or willingness to work towards.
  • Respectful of learner’s personal needs and maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Annual Salary: £24,522 FTE Actual salary £19,940.43
  • Term Time only position, 37 hours per week.
