Job summary

Expanse Learning is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Officer to support wellbeing, behaviour, engagement and attendance for children and young people with SEND aged 11-16. You will apply trauma-informed approaches to remove barriers to learning and promote positive engagement.

In this role you will monitor attendance, liaise with families and external agencies, complete home visits, and maintain records. You will act as Dedicated Safeguarding Officer within the safeguarding team, reporting to the

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or higher in education, youth work, pastoral support, social care, or related field.
• GCSE English and maths at least grade C/5.
• Safeguarding or child protection training completed.
• Desirable: attendance, behaviour management, or inclusion training.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support addressing wellbeing, behaviour, and attendance.
• Monitor attendance and implement intervention strategies.
• Liaise with families and external agencies.
• Complete Home visits.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Act in the role of Dedicated Safeguarding Officer, reporting to the DSL as part of the Safeguarding team.
