Job summary

Upwell Academy is seeking a compassionate, proactive pastoral support practitioner to join our school community. You will work closely with children, families and staff to remove barriers to education, strengthen home-school partnerships and promote positive attendance, wellbeing and engagement.

This role requires Level 2 English and Maths, Level 3 Education or equivalent, Level 4 Pastoral Support Practitioner, and safeguarding training or willingness to undertake.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths required.
• Level 3 Education or equivalent.
• Level 4 Pastoral Support Practitioner or willingness to undertake.
• Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training or willingness to undertake.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within education, social services/welfare or voluntary sector.
• Knowledge of social and emotional factors affecting learning.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Help remove barriers to education and promote positive attendance, wellbeing and engagement.
• Support vulnerable children and families with timely interventions.
