Selston High School is recruiting for a Pastoral Support Officer to assist a designated Head of Year with pastoral matters, attendance issues and safeguarding. The role supports Attendance Officers and involves building relationships with families and external agencies to promote student welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience of mentoring, coaching or working with young people.

Responsibilities

• Follow a structured timetable with designated tasks to support students to overcome barriers and achieve potential.
• Mornings: support attendance team, make calls, monitor and follow up.
• Daily: provide pastoral support within the year group, including uniform checks and lesson drop-ins.
• Before school, break and lunch-time duties; additional duties in Pastoral base.
• Support after school with corrections and on-call assistance around site.
