Job summary

Sir James Smith’s School invites a dedicated colleague to work across the SEND department, providing mentoring and academic support to students who need additional help to achieve excellent outcomes.

You will collaborate with teachers to deliver Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 lessons, mentor SEND pupils individually or in groups, and work with pastoral staff to support some of the school's most vulnerable students, both academically and pastorally.

Qualifications

  • Confidence to work with a range of students from SEND on an individual basis through to group work with older students to promote engagement and positive behaviours.
  • Collaboration and co-operation with students, colleagues, and school leaders.
  • Personal drive to develop strategies and techniques to support individual students and groups of students.
  • Levels of professionalism and an outlook that match the school’s aspiration and allows all students to leave with excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Mentoring to individual SEND students.
