Job summary

Henley Bank High School is seeking a dedicated Mentor Support Worker to join the SEND Team. You will provide emotional support, help students overcome attendance barriers, and develop plans to improve outcomes.

As part of a supportive team, you will deliver 1-2-1 and small group mentoring, attend meetings with the SEN department, and maintain accurate records with safeguarding in mind.

Qualifications

  • Hold at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at grade C/4.
  • Hold at least A Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
  • A relevant qualification in management, working with children and young people, the delivery of alternative education programmes, social work, etc.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with barriers to attendance.
  • Support the SENCo to identify and address barriers to attendance.
  • Develop individualised plans to improve attendance and life skills.
  • Attend meetings and prepare progress reports as required.
  • Deliver 1-2-1 and small group mentoring sessions and track progress.
