Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Hexham, Northumberland. The role involves 1:1 support, small group interventions and classroom assistance across the primary age range, with an ASAP start and long-term commitment.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent, with experience supporting children with complex SEND, 1:1 support and group interventions, and a strong understanding of how complex needs affect learning

Qualifications

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent relevant qualification.
Experience supporting children with complex SEND.
Experience providing 1:1 support and delivering small group interventions.
Understanding of complex additional needs and how these can impact learning and development.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions across the primary age range.
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
Work closely with teaching staff to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
