Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Newcastle. The role provides 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with complex needs within an inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will have Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications, SEND experience, and strong communication skills. You will work closely with the class teacher and school team on a long‑term basis.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience supporting children with SEND and complex needs.
• Experience providing 1:1 support within a primary school setting.
• A patient and caring approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with complex needs.
• Support pupil learning, engagement and individual needs while working with the class teacher and wider school team.
