Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Hexham, Northumberland. The role involves 1:1 support, small group interventions and classroom assistance across the primary age range, with an ASAP start and long-term commitment.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent, with experience supporting children with complex SEND, 1:1 support and group interventions, and a strong understanding of how complex needs affect learning

Job Title: SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Location: Hexham

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £93.50-£100 per day

Are you a passionate SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with complex additional needs?

Do you have the patience, resilience and understanding to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?

Are you adaptable and confident working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and across different primary school classes?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Primary School based in Hexham, Northumberland, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant. The school supports pupils with a range of complex additional needs and aims to provide an inclusive learning environment where every child can develop their confidence, independence and abilities.

The school is looking to take on an enthusiastic SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful applicant will provide a mixture of 1:1 support, small group interventions and classroom support across the primary age range, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and working closely with teaching staff to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

The successful SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent relevant qualification
• Experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND
• Experience providing 1:1 support and delivering small group interventions
• An understanding of complex additional needs and how these can impact learning and development
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
