Job summary

The Supply Register is recruiting SEND Learning Support Workers on behalf of the Newcastle College Group to support learners across Lewisham College, Southwark College and The Higher Education Centre. Roles involve assisting 16-25 year olds with additional needs inside and outside the classroom, enabling participation and independence.

Locations include Lewisham College, Southwark College and The Higher Education Centre with typical hours 9:00am to 4:00pm and pattern of 4–5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient and caring with a positive attitude.
• Experience in SEND/SEN or FE/HE settings preferred.
• Ability to work with learners with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND.
• Assist students to access learning across subjects.
• Promote independence, confidence and personal development.
• Support students with personal care where required.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
