Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for South Tyneside College on a full-time, temporary basis. You will provide tailored support to students, including those with SEND, across classroom and workshop settings to help build confidence and independence.

Working with teaching staff, you’ll deliver inclusive learning activities, monitor progress and offer practical help to learners of various ages. DBS clearance will be required and safeguarding is a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or adults in education, training or support.
• Understanding of SEND and additional learning needs.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored learning support to students in classroom, workshop and practical learning environments.
• Support learners with SEND and additional support requirements.
• Work with teaching staff to deliver engaging, accessible and inclusive learning activities.
• Encourage students to participate actively and develop independence.
• Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to tutors and support teams.
• Help learners develop study skills, organisation and positive classroom engagement.
• Provide encouragement and practical support to help learners build confidence and achieve their goals.
• Assist with personal care needs where required and appropriate.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching and support teams to ensure learners receive consistent support.
