Job summary

Gloucestershire College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support learners with guidance from the Inclusion Team across Gloucester campuses. You will help learners progress, using ProMonitor, and share information with staff and families to enable smooth transitions.

You’ll keep records, apply EHCPs and learner profiles to tailor support, encourage independence and contribute to staff training and college events. Role offers term-time, part-time flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEND learners, ideally in a specialist or post-16 setting.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/Level 2, or willingness to work towards them.
• Practical safeguarding experience in an education or support environment.

Responsibilities

• You’ll support learners under the guidance of the Inclusion Team, helping them progress and grow in confidence across a range of learning environments.
• Keep accurate records, use ProMonitor effectively and share key information with staff, families and external partners.
• Help learners settle into college through transition activities and use their support plans, EHCPs and learner profiles to guide your practice.
• Encourage independence, explore effective learning strategies and contribute to team meetings, training and wider college events.
• Follow SEND guidance, safeguarding expectations and college standards to ensure every learner receives high quality, consistent support.
