Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA for a SEND school in Rowley Regis. The position is short-term with potential to extend, suitable for someone keen to develop skills to support pupils with diverse needs.

The role involves working with students across all Key Stages with Autism/ ASD, MLD and SLD, requiring a proactive and confident approach to classroom support. Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities.
• Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours.
• Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent.
• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with students across all Key Stages including Autism/ ASD, MLD and SLD settings.
• Support development of academic, emotional, social and behavioural skills.
• Be a proactive, confident team player who can manage situations effectively.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Rowley Regis, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, MLD/ Moderate Learning Difficulties and SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA will have:

· Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

· Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours

· Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent

· Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
