TeacherActive is urgently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a specialist day school in Redditch. Immediate start available for experienced practitioners working with pupils aged 9-13 with SEND. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping with communication, learning access and independence.

The role involves close collaboration with teachers and staff to deliver a nurturing, inclusive learning environment and to support pupils in achieving their development goals.

Qualifications

TeacherActive is urgently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to support a specialist day school in Redditch, Birmingham. We are looking for reliable, committed and compassionate individuals who can join the school as soon as possible.

The Opportunity

The school supports pupils aged 9 13 with special educational needs and/or disabilities arising from cognition and learning difficulties.

It provides a specialist, nurturing environment where pupils receive individualised support to help them overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, communication and independence.

Due to an immediate need for additional support, the school is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants for both day-to-day and long-term opportunities.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide effective 1:1 and classroom support. You will play a key role in helping pupils access their learning, develop their communication and social skills, and become more independent.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for SEND Teaching Assistants who have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND


• Experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties


• Experience supporting speech, communication and language needs


• Confidence working with primary-aged pupils


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills


• A patient, calm and resilient approach


• The ability to adapt to different pupils' individual needs


• A genuine passion for helping children develop and succeed


• Availability to start immediately
