Job summary

SGS Pegasus School seeks a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support SEND pupils aged 4–19. You will work 1:1, in small groups, and with whole classes to enhance academic, social, and emotional development. You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure access to the curriculum.

The role emphasizes building trust, supporting independent study, and promoting an inclusive, protective environment where every student can thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEND students with academic, social and emotional needs.
• Ability to work with teachers and support professionals to identify student needs.
• Knowledge of inclusive and personalised learning approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support 1:1 sessions and small groups with SEND pupils.
• Assist whole classes and promote high standards of teaching and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to meet student needs.
• Build positive relationships with young people to support academic and life skills.
• Work with KS2/3 and KS3/4 classes; some intimate care may be required.
