Job summary

Kent Teaching Solutions Ltd. is supporting a specialist primary school focused on autism and related needs to recruit a SEND Learning Support Assistant for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 pupils.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with SEND, collaborate with teachers, the SENDCo and therapists, and help with personal care and mobility where needed. Permanent, long-term, and ad hoc contracts are available, with ongoing training and a rewarding role helping young people thrive and reach

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Calm, empathetic and patient approach is essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good safeguarding knowledge or willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Work as a whole classroom assistant to support the teacher.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Foster positive relationships to promote confidence, independence and wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care and mobility (where necessary).
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and families.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews, behaviour plans and learning targets.
