Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting Level 3 SEND Learning Support Assistants for primary schools in Wakefield and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible day-to-day supply, short-term placements and longer-term opportunities with competitive rates.

We require a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, and experience supporting children with SEND needs. A minimum of 6 months' experience is preferred for these roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience working in a primary school or SEND setting.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Experience supporting children with SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or additional communication needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Support children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Adapt to different school settings, routines and pupil requirements.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

LEVEL 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT QUALIFICATION IS REQUIRED

We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive and reliable Level 3 SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Successful SEND Learning Support Assistant Will:

• Have a minimum of 6 months' experience working in a primary school or SEND setting.
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Have experience supporting children with SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or additional communication needs.
• Be patient, adaptable and confident supporting pupils with a range of individual learning needs.

The Role Will Involve:

• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
