Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for Bradford primary schools. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupils with diverse needs and assisting teachers in KS1/KS2 settings.

Applicants should have at least 6 months in an educational setting, hold an enhanced DBS with Update Service, and demonstrate patience, adaptability and strong communication to foster an inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' experience in a primary school or educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Experience supporting KS1 and/or KS2.
• Confident providing 1:1 and small group support.
• Understanding of SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with varying abilities.
• Support pupils with SEND including autism, ADHD, and other needs.
• Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and core curriculum areas.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence in the classroom.
• Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Yorkshire and Humber/ temporary / £80 - 110 per day

A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS' EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A PRIMARY SCHOOL OR EDUCATIONAL SETTING IS REQUIRED

The Successful Learning Support Assistant Will:

• Have a minimum of 6 months' experience working in a primary school or educational setting.
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Have experience supporting children across KS1 and/or KS2.
• Be confident providing 1:1 support and small group interventions.
• Have an understanding of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Be patient, adaptable and proactive in supporting children's individual learning needs.
• Have strong communication skills and a positive approach to behaviour management.

The Role Will Involve:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
• Supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD and additional learning difficulties.
• Assisting pupils with literacy, numeracy and other areas of the primary curriculum.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence in the classroom.

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Adapting to different school settings, routines and individual pupil requirements.
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
