Job summary

Teach Now Limited in Barnet is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to deliver targeted English and literacy interventions at a high-performing secondary school. You will work alongside specialist dyslexia teachers to support students with additional learning needs.

The role focuses on building confidence, adapting interventions to EHCP targets, monitoring progress, and contributing to safeguarding and wellbeing.

SEND Learning Support Assistant (English Interventions) – Barnet Pay: £93–£101.80 per day, dependent on qualifications and experience Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Start date: 5 October 2026 Benefit: 1:30pm finish every Friday

Help students find their confidence in English — and develop your specialist SEND skills along the way. Teach Now is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to deliver targeted English and literacy support at a high-performing secondary school in Barnet. Joining a setting with strong outcomes for students with additional needs, youll help young people overcome learning barriers and become more confident, independent learners. Youll also work closely with specialist dyslexia teachers, developing your understanding of dyslexia and practical approaches to literacy support.

Your role

• Deliver targeted English and literacy interventions individually and in small groups.
• Adapt support to students learning needs and relevant Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
• Build trusting relationships that encourage participation, confidence and independence.
• Monitor progress and share feedback with teachers and the wider SEND team.
• Work alongside specialist dyslexia teachers to apply effective support strategies.

Essential requirements

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, with a sound understanding of additional learning needs.
• Strong English and literacy skills, with confidence delivering individual and small-group interventions.
• Ability to give clear examples of successfully engaging students, adapting support and building their confidence in learning.
• A patient, consistent approach and an interest in supporting students with dyslexia.
• Willingness to work in a Jewish faith school and respect its ethos, values and practices. Applicants of all faiths and none are welcome.
