Job summary

GSL Education Kent is recruiting a SEND Intervention Practitioner in Ashford to support pupils with SEND across a specialist school setting. You will deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions, contribute to EHCPs and personalised learning plans, and help pupils develop communication, social skills and independence in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role is full-time with ongoing opportunities; experience with SEND, patience, and safeguarding knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school, care, or similar setting.
• Calm, patient and understanding approach.
• Ability to follow safeguarding procedures.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions tailored to pupils' individual needs.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
• Help pupils develop communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
• Support sensory needs and personal care requirements where necessary.
• Promote independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
• Work alongside teachers and other professionals to monitor and encourage pupil progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment that supports learning and wellbeing.
