Job summary

GSL Education Kent are recruiting a SEND Intervention Practitioner to support pupils aged 2 to 19 with complex needs at a specialist school in Tonbridge. You will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions to help pupils develop communication, social and independence skills.

ASAP start. A calm, patient, and resilient approach, plus experience in SEND, is essential. An Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to apply is required to comply with safer recruitment checks.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in school, care, or specialist settings.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach when working with pupils with complex needs.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt support to individual learning and developmental needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children reach their potential.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to meet pupils' needs.
• Support implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
• Help pupils develop communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
• Support pupils with sensory needs, behaviour, and personal care where required.
• Encourage independence, functional learning, and life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support progress.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
