GSL Education Kent are recruiting a SEND Intervention Practitioner to support pupils aged 2 to 19 with complex needs at a specialist school in Tonbridge. You will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions to help pupils develop communication, social and independence skills.

ASAP start. A calm, patient, and resilient approach, plus experience in SEND, is essential. An Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to apply is required to comply with safer recruitment checks.

Salary: £93.33+ per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking a committed SEND Intervention Practitioner to join a nurturing specialist school in Tonbridge. You will work with pupils aged 2 to 19 with complex needs, including autism and profound learning difficulties, delivering tailored support to help them build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their individual goals in a caring and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities of the SEND Intervention Practitioner include:

• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to meet pupils' individual needs
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
• Helping pupils develop communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills
• Supporting pupils with sensory needs, behaviour, and personal care where required
• Encouraging independence, functional learning, and essential life skills
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support pupil progress
• Promoting a safe, positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The ideal SEND Intervention Practitioner will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care, or specialist support setting
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach when working with pupils with complex needs
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learning and developmental needs
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one
