Job summary

GSL Education Kent is recruiting for a SEND Intervention Practitioner to support pupils aged 2 to 19 with complex needs in Tonbridge. You will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions to foster communication, learning, and independence in a nurturing setting.

You will collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement EHCPs, adapt strategies to individual needs, and promote safety and inclusion while maintaining safeguarding best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in school, care, or specialist setting.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach when working with pupils with complex needs.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential.
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to meet pupils' individual needs
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
• Helping pupils develop communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills
• Supporting pupils with sensory needs, behaviour, and personal care where required
• Encouraging independence, functional learning, and essential life skills
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support pupil progress
• Promoting a safe, positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
