Job summary

Step Into Teaching partners with an amazing secondary school in Bootle L20, seeking a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs and help them reintegrate into school. The role starts ASAP and runs for the academic year.

The successful candidate will work in a warm, inclusive environment, providing small group interventions and pastoral support to promote academic and personal progress for all students.

Qualifications

• Hold a Psychology degree (2:2 or above).
• Strong subject knowledge within English, Maths and Science (GCSE A*-C).
• Be passionate about supporting children with their learning.
• Be able to keep students engaged and motivated.

Responsibilities

• To support pupils in a small group intervention base to reintegrate into school.
• To assist with writing and maintaining reintegration plans.
• To support emotional wellbeing of pupils in intervention base.
• To deliver small group social and communication intervention.
• To support pupils with acquisition of foundational knowledge to support reintegration.
• Assisting students with their learning development, on an individual and group basis.
• Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
• Work alongside classroom teachers to be that extra support during lessons.
• Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress.
