Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking several Full Time Teaching Assistants to support SEND students in South Liverpool mainstream primary schools from September 2026. Prior SEND experience, particularly with Autism and ADHD, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours are essential.

You will work closely with teachers, parents and external agencies to implement IEPs, promote inclusion and help pupils engage and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour in a school or care setting.
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Excellent communication and proactive pupil engagement.
• Manual Handling qualifications desired; experience with challenging behaviour essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted behaviour and learning support to pupils with SEND.
• Implement, review and contribute to IEPs and behaviour support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies for consistent approaches.
• Promote a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques to engage pupils.
