Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring Education Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for SEND learners in Basingstoke. Roles include Education Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Mentor, with flexible hours and hybrid/home-based sessions arranged with families or schools.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years working with young people with complex needs, safeguarding knowledge, and a UK work entitlement.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health).
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK; safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced significant challenges.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings, delivering creative activities.
• Support life skills, confidence, and independence using trauma-informed approaches.
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support.
