Job summary

Principal Education's North London secondary school is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead and develop SEND provision in line with legislation, ensuring high-quality support for students with additional needs.

You will work with the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, families and external agencies to oversee EHCP processes, monitor progress and promote an inclusive culture across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience as SENCO or significant SEND leadership in a secondary school.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Willingness to complete NASENCO where required.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

We are seeking an experienced and committed SENCO to join our welcoming and ambitious secondary school in North London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate SEND professional to lead and further develop the school's provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all students receive the support, opportunities and high-quality education they need to thrive.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, teaching staff, families, external professionals and students, you will provide strategic leadership for SEND across the school and ensure that effective systems and interventions are in place.

The Role

As SENCO, you will:

• Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for students.
• Monitor the progress, attainment and wellbeing of students with SEND.

• Promote an inclusive culture where every student is supported to achieve their potential.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working as a SENCO or in a significant SEND leadership role within a secondary school.
• Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
• Holds, or is willing to complete, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) where required.
• Has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can work strategically while remaining focused on the individual needs of students.
• Is confident working with parents, colleagues, Local Authorities and external professionals.
• Is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for young people with SEND.
• Can lead, inspire and develop colleagues across the school.
