Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in the South East is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead strategic and day-to-day SEND delivery within a further education setting. You will ensure learners with additional needs receive appropriate provision, adjustments and support to succeed, working with authorities, families and external agencies.

You will collaborate with curriculum teams to embed inclusive teaching, oversee EHCPs and annual reviews, manage SEND funding, develop the SEND team, and monitor learner

Qualifications

• FE SEND experience
• SENCO experience or leadership in SEND
• Strong knowledge of EHCPs and SEND Code of Practice
• Experience working with local authorities and external agencies
• Experience leading SEND/learning support teams
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and reasonable adjustments
• Experience using data to monitor learner outcomes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• DfE-approved SENCO qualification (NASENCO)

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the college.
• Own EHCP consultations, annual reviews and placements.
• Engage with local authorities, families, and external agencies.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to embed inclusive teaching.
• Advise on reasonable adjustments and SEND legislation.
• Lead, support, and develop the SEND/Support for Learning team.
• Monitor learner support, progress and outcomes.
• Oversee specialist agencies and individual learner provision.
• Manage SEND funding and high-needs processes.
• Lead staff training and promote inclusive teaching practice.
• Monitor and improve the quality of SEND provision.
