Job summary

Mencap is recruiting for a full-time Tutor/HLTA to join our Supported Internship programme in the Black Country. You will deliver the educational element of the internship, focusing on employability skills and functional English and Maths from Entry to Level 2.

As an HLTA you may pursue a Level 5 qualification with our support. You will work with dedicated colleagues to help learners access paid employment and gain accredited qualifications, while enjoying flexible planning time and a

Qualifications

Qualified teaching qualification preferred (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS).
Level 3 qualification or HLTA status considered with Level 5 progression.
GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.

Responsibilities

Create dynamic and engaging lessons integrating English and maths with employability skills.
Develop essential life skills for learners to navigate communities independently.
Deliver accredited functional skills in English and Maths up to Level 2.
Plan and deliver lessons, with a full day each week for planning and administration.
Collaborate with team members to support learners and secure paid employment.
Deliver the programme without following the academic year calendar to support work-life balance.
