Job summary

Manor House School in Horsham is looking for a SEN-focused Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. The role involves 1:1 and small-group work, partnering with teachers to deliver personalised learning and safeguarding, within a permanent, term-time framework. Start: October 2026.

Salary up to £24,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will help pupils engage, regulate emotions, and celebrate progress, contributing to a nurturing and inclusive school

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent.
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Patience, empathy and resilience with strong communication.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and inspire confidence.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in class, in small groups and 1:1 to help them engage, achieve and grow.
• Work with teachers to deliver creative, personalised learning meeting individual needs.
• Build trusted relationships so pupils feel safe, valued and confident.
• Encourage independence, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Promote positive behaviour using nurturing, consistent approaches.
• Record pupil progress and collaborate with teachers and therapists.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.
