Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a First School in Alvechurch. You will support pupils across Reception to Year 3, focusing on SEMH, complex needs, and non-verbal communication, under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role is full-time, long-term, starting after October half-term and continuing until July 2027. You will need SEND experience and a flexible, patient approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Primary/First School setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH and complex needs.
• Ability to adapt activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• DBS check updated within 12 months or on update service.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Provide dedicated support to pupils across Reception to Year 3 with various needs.
• Support SEMH, severe/complex needs, and non-verbal communication.
• Adapt activities and resources to enable pupil access to the curriculum.
• Support communication, interaction and social development.
• Help pupils develop independence and essential life skills.
• Maintain a calm, patient, and consistent approach with pupils.
