Job summary

REESON Education are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs in the Rotherham area. The role involves personalised one-to-one and small-group assistance to promote independence, alongside helping develop emotional, behavioural, and academic skills within a safe, inclusive environment.

You will work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals, following structured support plans and contributing to safeguarding best practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school, childcare, or support setting.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support based on individual needs.
• Support with class tasks, adapted resources, and small-group activities.
• Use supportive strategies to promote positive behaviour, engagement and resilience.
• Record key observations and communicate updates to teaching staff.
• Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
