Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Rotherham is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of needs in a supportive school environment. You will collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement IEPs and tailor support, helping pupils access learning and develop independence.

You will work closely with staff to foster communication, social and life skills, while safeguarding pupils and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Support pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to teaching staff.
