Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Rotherham. The role focuses on supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties and other needs, helping them access activities and develop confidence.

You will work alongside experienced staff, follow individual plans, and contribute to a calm inclusive learning environment. This is a term-time, full-time role with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN is desirable.
• Ability to support pupils with autism and learning difficulties.
• Committed and caring approach to education.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
• Helping pupils access classroom activities and learning.
• Providing encouragement and reassurance as needed.
• Supporting communication, social development and emotional regulation.
• Helping pupils develop independence and confidence.
• Building positive relationships with pupils.
• Assisting teachers with activities and resources.
• Following individual support and behaviour plans.
• Working as part of an SEN support team.
• Creating a calm, inclusive learning environment.
