Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Rotherham is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and other needs in a specialist education setting. You will work alongside experienced teachers to provide targeted assistance and create an inclusive learning environment.

The role involves working with pupils individually and in small groups, supporting classroom activities, and helping students access learning.

Qualifications

• Patient, approachable and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Previous SEN experience is desirable, transferable from TA, care, youth work or related roles.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff, remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Help pupils access classroom activities and learning.
• Provide encouragement and reassurance to pupils.
• Support communication, social development and emotional regulation.
• Help pupils develop independence and confidence.
