Job summary

Milk Education in Guildford is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate in lessons.

You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver personalised plans, encourage confidence and independence, support emotional regulation, and promote positive behaviour in a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND, ASD or SEMH is beneficial.
• Patience, compassion and understanding of individual needs.
• Confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and behaviours.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and completing learning activities.
• Work with teachers and SEN staff to deliver personalised support plans.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development.
• Use appropriate strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions and wider school activities.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
