Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a welcoming SEND school in Guildford, Surrey. The role involves supporting pupils during lessons, providing 1:1 and small-group help, and assisting teachers with preparation, with a focus on academic, social, and emotional development. Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, or additional needs is beneficial.
• Patient, supportive, and approachable.
• Confident working with pupils of different abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to reinforce learning.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and organisation.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
• Help pupils access the curriculum through tailored support and encouragement.
• Support pupils during wider school activities, routines, and transitions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
