Job summary

Milk Education are working with an inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their classroom team from September.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and independence, and participate in lessons.

The role requires patience, strong communication and teamwork, with SEN experience desirable and a reliable, consistent approach to pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• SEN experience is desirable.
• Patient, calm and consistent approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
• Reinforce strategies and targets set by the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Support pupils with their social and emotional development.
• Adapt resources and activities where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
