Job summary

Milk Education in Dorking, Surrey is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND from September. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help pupils access the curriculum, and work with teachers to implement personalised plans in a welcoming, inclusive classroom.

  • Previous experience with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH/ASD/complex needs is beneficial.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and encourage development.

A welcoming SEN school in Dorking, Surrey is looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a real difference in their educational, social, and emotional development.

The Role
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
  • Support pupils with accessing the curriculum and completing learning activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver personalised support plans.
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development.
  • Use appropriate strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and wider school activities.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
