Job summary

Randstad NV currently seeks a Teaching Assistant (Level 2/Level 3) to support a class of 8-10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition in Cambridge. You will work with specialist teachers and therapists to deliver tailored lessons focused on social-emotional wellbeing and communication, under EHCP guidance.

You will promote inclusion, manage behaviour, and assist with medical/physical care, lunch duties, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification and SEN Teaching Assistant experience.
• Experience in SEN and/or mainstream settings.
• Ability to track pupil progression and contribute to EHCP targets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct support to individuals or small groups, adapting lessons to EHCP targets.
• Promote positive social interactions, inclusion, behaviour, and attendance.
• Assist with emotional, physical, and medical care, including lunch duty and First Aid.
• (Level 3) Plan, arrange, and deliver specialised learning for small groups.
• Prepare classroom environments, resources, displays, and admin tasks.
• Record pupil progress, contribute to target setting, planning, evaluation.
• Maintain a clean, safe learning environment per Health & Safety regulations.
• (Level 3) Provide detailed feedback on learning activities for school reviews.
• Embody school values, foster family participation, support school events.
• Maintain safeguarding standards, pupil welfare, medical/child protection protocols.
• Engage in CPD, team collaboration, and governance meetings out-of-hours.
• (Level 2/3) Support or mentor fellow Teaching Assistants in development.
