Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2/3) to support a class of 8-10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition in Cambridge. You will work with therapists and teachers to create a nurturing environment focused on social-emotional wellbeing and EHCP targets.

Role includes direct classroom support, lesson adaptation, behaviour promotion, safeguarding, and occasional Level 3 activities for small groups. Level 2 required, Level 3 preferable.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification and previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
• Experience in mainstream or SEN settings is desirable.
• Ability to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and EHCP targets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct support to individuals or small groups, adapting lessons to EHCP targets.
• Promote positive social interactions, inclusion, and good behaviour.
• Assist with emotional, physical, medical care, lunch duty and First Aid.
• Plan and deliver specialised activities for small groups (Level 3).
• Prepare classrooms, resources, displays and manage day-to-day admin tasks.
• Record pupil progress and contribute to target setting and evaluation.
• Maintain a safe learning environment following Health & Safety rules.
• Provide feedback on learning activities for school reviews.
