Job summary

Randstad Education in Bolton is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support autistic pupils within a dedicated SEN Unit in a secondary school. You will work with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to implement tailored learning strategies and support plans.

This full-time, long-term role offers a clear path to permanent employment and includes access to CPD, ongoing support from your dedicated consultant, and a commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with young people with autism spectrum conditions (ASC).
• Comfort with managing challenging behaviours and complex needs.
• Able to engage with and build rapport with young people.
• Creative, proactive and flexible in supporting style.
• Deep understanding of SEN and learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare resources and activities for 1:1 and small group support tailored to EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with teachers/SENCO to organise activities and routines.
• Liaise with other professionals such as Teachers, TAs and support staff.
• Work with other LSAs and support staff within the SEN Unit.
• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups as required.
• Monitor development, supporting personal, emotional and confidence growth.
