Job summary

The Grange School in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to support learning, wellbeing and development under supervision of teaching staff and the senior leadership team. You will support small groups and implement Individual Learning Plans while assisting supervision during teacher absence and providing feedback on pupil progress.

The role requires strong literacy and numeracy, teamwork, and clear communication with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Possesses strong literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 or above).
• Works effectively as part of a team with high professional standards.
• Good communication with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.
• Interest or experience in working with children with communication difficulties or complex learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting small groups of children and implementing Individual Learning Plans.
• Assisting with supervision during teacher absence (short periods).
• Providing feedback on pupil progress and maintaining records.
• Ensuring equal access to learning for all pupils.
• Participating in relevant training and development.
• Communicating effectively and professionally with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.
