Grange School in Manchester seeks a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development under supervision. The role is permanent, 35 hours/week, term-time plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £22,730.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the Teaching Assistant role and child development and learning.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills (qualified to Level 2 or above).
• Works effectively as part of a team and maintains high professional standards.
• Tactful, diplomatic and able to build positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Experience or interest in working with children with communication difficulties, ASD/SLD.

Responsibilities

• Support small groups of children and implement Individual Learning Plans.
• Assist with supervision during teacher absence (short periods).
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and maintain records.
• Ensure equal access to learning for all pupils.
• Participate in training and development and support performance management.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies.
