Job summary

CHS South is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to join our supportive team in Manchester. The role is 30 hours per week, term-time plus one week, permanent at Grade 2.

You will assist in classrooms, support pupils with learning, wellbeing and development, and work under teachers and the Headteachers to create an inclusive learning environment. You will help with lesson resources, manage behaviour, and keep pupil records.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy skills at NQF Level 2 or equivalent.
• Holds Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
• Able to work 30 hours per week and term-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support access to learning for individuals, small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis.
• Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and provide curricular administrative support.
• Support teachers in managing behaviour in class and around school.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
• Respond to pupils’ pastoral, social, health and welfare needs, including minor first aid.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
