Job summary

Prospect House Primary Specialist School in Greater Manchester is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN to support learners with complex needs. The role is fixed-term for one academic year, 29 hours per week during term time plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £18,232.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, contribute to learning plans, and help enable access to education for students with significant needs.

Qualifications

• Understanding the TA role and collaboration with teachers.
• Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
• Commitment to professional standards and ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support tailored to each student’s needs.
• Work with small groups under teacher supervision.
• Give regular feedback and maintain records of progress.
• Supervise discreet groups of pupils when needed.
• Promote equal access to learning for all pupils.
• Participate in training to develop learning strategies.
• Support the performance management process and CPD.
• Communicate in accurate spoken English.
