Job summary

Springwell Leeds Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support pupils with SEN/SEMH and to implement tailored work programmes inside and outside the classroom.

This permanent, full-time role offers 37 hours per week during term time plus 5 training days, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment and collaborating with teachers to monitor pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working with children of a relevant age or vulnerable individuals.
• Training: Willingness to achieve Team Teach Positive Behaviour Management Level 2 training.
• Knowledge: Understanding of child development/how children learn, knowledge of codes of practice/legislation.
• Skills: Excellent spoken and written English communication; ability to relate well to children and adults; team player.

Responsibilities

• Use specialist skills and experience to support pupils' learning and development.
• Establish productive, supportive relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model.
• Assist with the implementation of Individual Education, Behaviour and Support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers to establish an appropriate learning environment and assist with lesson planning and resource management.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities, providing objective feedback to teachers.
